RESCUE—Nancy Murphy Minga, 83, of Rescue Road died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2003, in Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News. She was a native of Isle of Wight County and a member of Whiteheads Grove Baptist Church in Smithfield. Mrs. Minga was the daughter of the late Ocie Hendricks and Reaves Brumbeloe Murphy. Her husband, Peyton Pendleton Minga, preceded Mrs. Minga in death. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mary Jane M. Richter of Rescue and Deborah M. Pruden of Carrollton; a son Samuel P. Minga of Carrollton; three sisters, Sara Danaceau of Newport News, Jane Brown of Rescue and Sadie Boyette of Indiana; two brothers, Pyton Murphy of Driver and Melvin Murphy of Gretna; and eight grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. A graveside service was conducted in St. Luke's Memorial Park in Smithfield, with the Rev. Mark Burgess officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Isle of Wight Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 97, Smithfield, VA 23431-0097. Colonial Funeral Home in Smithfield is handling arrangements.
