Sadie Reeves Boyette, 87, of Anderson, died June 20, 2009, at Countryside Living Care.

Sadie moved to Anderson about 12 years ago from Carrolton, Va. She had been a member of the Christ Episcopal Church and Trinity Episcopal Church. She was a homemaker.

She enjoyed sewing, quilting, home decorating, shopping and keeping current with fashions. She loved being a grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include a son, Melvin G. (wife, Rosalea) Boyette of Newport News, Va.; daughter, Sandy (husband, Jim) Kovach, Anderson; brother, Melvin Murphy, Monteray, N.C.; sister, Sarah Danaseau, Newport News, Va.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ocie and Reeves Murphy; husband, Melvin Boyette; son, Jeff Boyette; brothers, Piton, Cleveland, Joe, Milton and Algie Murphy; sisters, Nancy Minga, Jane Brown, Priscilla Moser; and a grandchild.

Services will be noon at Saturday at the Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield, Va. Burial will be in the St. Lukes Cemetery in Bens Church, Va.

Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home in Virginia.

Guilkey Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
