Juanita was the fourth of five children born to Daniel Jasper 'Jap' and Elsis Mae (Shoe) Hatley. She married James William 'Bill' Moore Sr. in 1940and they had four children: James William Jr., Elaine, Rebecca and Evelyn.

Juanita Hatley Moore ALBEMARLE -- Juanita Hatley Moore, 85, died October 3, 2007 at her home. She was born January 21, 1922 in Stanly County, NC and had worked for 29 years as a mender with Collins & Aikman. Juanita was a volunteer for Hospice of Stanly County and was named 'Volunteer of the Year 2006'. She was a member of the Singing Americans as long as her health permitted. She was a devoted member of Badin Baptist Church where she was a choir member and served on various committees. The greatest joys of her life were her family and friends. The family will meet at her home. She is survived by her son, James William 'Jim' Moore, Jr. of Albemarle, NC; daughters, Elaine Moore of Albemarle, NC, Rebecca (Moore) Misenheimer of Charlotte, and Evelyn (Moore) Harward and husband, Bill of Richfield, NC; grandchildren, Jamie Moore and wife, Carla, Trey Helms, Sandy Pelot and husband, Ted, Ashley Misenheimer, Donna Misenheimer, Carson Misenheimer; sister, Doris Loy of Burlington, NC; and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, James William 'Bill' Moore, Sr. who died February 1, 1992; father, Daniel Jasper 'Jap' Hatley; and mother, Elsie Shoe Hatley. The funeral will be held 2 PM Friday, October 5, 2007 at Badin Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Abernathy officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
