She had three sons and three daughters with Manford Blanton between 1925 and 1938: Melvin 1925-2010, Buretta "Rita" 1927-2002, Beatrice "Bea" born 1929, Chester born 1931, James born 1935, and Judy Ellen born 1938. She died 22 Jan 1964 at age 66 and was buried at the Manford Blanton family cemetery at Oil Springs, Johnson County, Kentucky.

Mrs. Lona Blanton, 66, resident of Oil Springs, died in a local hospital at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 22, after an illness of several months. The daughter of the late Thomas and Margarett Brown Williams, she was born in this county May 21, 1897, and had resided at Oil Springs most of her life. She was a member of the United Baptist Church. Her first marriage was to Eual Jackson, who preceded her in death. She was later married to Manford Blanton, who also preceded her in death. Surviving are four sons, Freddie Jackson, Springfield, Ohio; Melvin, Chester and James M. Blanton all of Oil Springs; three daughters, Mrs. Charles Miller, Grove City, Ohio; Mrs. Robert Butler, Springfield, Ohio; Mrs. Joseph Wott, Westerville, Ohio; a brother, R. B. Williams, Newport News, Va.; three sisters, Mrs. Lou Pelphrey of this city; Mrs. Evaline Blair, Beaver, Ohio; Mrs. Flara Whitt, Ashland. Also surviving are nine stepsons, four stepdaughters, 21 grandchildren and 13 great- grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday at the Beechwall United Baptist Church with O. I. Williams, Millard O’Bryan, Vencil Pelphrey and Francis Blair as officiating ministers.
