Alger (Ohio)--Lou (Williams) Pelphrey, 93 of Paintsville, Ky., died at 2pm, Tuesday at the home of her daughter (Juanita) in Alger.

She was born Jan 21, 1889 in Floyd Co., Ky., the daughter of Thomas and Margaret (Brown) Williams. On Dec. 30, 1909, she married Labe Pelphrey, who died Jan. 12, 1959. Mrs. Pelphrey was a homemaker. She was a 75-year member of the Jenny Creek United Baptist Church in Leander, Ky. Survivors include two sons, lder Vencil L. Pelphrey of Paintsville, Ky.,
and Thomas H. Pelphrey of Toledo, Ohio; five daughters: Mrs. Dolpha S.Howard (Agnes (Pelphrey) of Dayton, Ohio, Mrs. Turner Holbrook,(Juanita (Pelphrey) of Alger, Ohio, Mrs. Richard Painter (Doris Jean (Pelphrey) of Lucasville, Ohio, Mrs. Charles McKenzie (Oka (Pelphrey) ) of Kenton, Ohio, and Mrs. Charles Castle (Bonnie (Pelphrey)) of De Soto, Texas.23 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren, and 11 step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Opal and Mary Margaret Pelphrey. Also one grandson, Landon T. Pelphrey.

Services will be held at 11 am Friday at Preston Funeral Home. Burial will be in Williams Cemetery, Asa, Ky. ("Tommy Williams Cemetery")

Mrs. Lou Williams Pelphrey, 93, died October 12 at the Alger, OH home of her daughter, Juanita Holbrook, after an extended illness. Mrs. Pelphrey was born January 21, 1889 in Johnson County, the daughter of Thomas and Margaret Brown Williams. She had been a member of the United Baptist Church for 76 years. Her husband, Labe Pelphrey, preceded her in death January 12, 1959. Surviving are two sons, Vencil L. Pelphrey, Paintsville, and Thomas Pelphrey, Toledo, OH; five daughters, Agnes Howard, Dayton, OH, Juanita Holbrook, Alger, OH, Doris Jean Painter, Waverly, OH, Oka McKenzie, Kenton, OH, and Bonnie Lou Castle, Desota, TX; 23 grandchildren, 12 step grandchildren, 35, great grandchildren, 11 step great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. Funeral services were held October 15 in Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel with Elders t. E. Montgomery, Melvin Wright and Gerald Hopkins officiating. Burial was in Thomas Williams Cemetery, Leander.
