John Eagen 76, of Rt. 3 Chesterton Ind. passed away suddenly at 3:30a.m. Monday Nov. 7, 1949 at his home in Rock Garden Inn on U.S. 20. He had been failing for some time but had not been bedfast. The body was removed from Flynn-Lundberg-Johnson Funeral Home in Indiana to L.J. Lintner Funeral Home of Padeeville WI.Monday afternoon and services were held Wednesday Morning at 9:30 from Rocky Run Catholic Cemetery in Wyocena WI. Mr. Eagen was A retired laborer, resider near here for past three years. He is survived by three daughters and three sons.

Former Pardee Man Buried Here November 8th
John Eagen son of the late John and Jeanette (Patton) Eagen
was born at Cherokee IA. May 8, 1873, and came to Pardeeville with his parents when a boy, and they settled on a farm just about a mile south of this villiage now owned by Elmer Cook and occupied by Arthur Heaps. He spent almost his entire life here until just a few years ago when he moved to Indiana where he passed away Nov. 7, 1949 at the age of 76 years. He married Hannah Florence Griffin Oct. 30, 1900 in Columbia Co., who survives with the following children: Mrs. R. R. Williams, Gary IN, Mrs, Richard N. Peterson, Henning MN., Mrs. Elmer Wescher, Chesterton IN., Mrs. Daniel Stevenson, New Orleans LA., Mrs, Zella Hanna, Pardeeville, Carl and Roy Eagen of Chesterton IN and Martin of East Gary IN. There are two surviving brothers Thomas of Seattle Washington and Roy of this city, and two sisters Mrs. Thersa Courtney of Milwaukee and Mrs. John Dussling of Portage. There is also 26 surviving grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning Nov. 9th from St. Mary's church with Rev, Chas. Monroe officiating. Burial was in the Rocky Run Cem. Pall bearers were: Sam Sines Portage, Harold Eggleston, John Schmidt, Orris Smith, Charles Mittelstadt and Harvey Wendt local.
Here for the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs, R. R. Williams, Gary, Mr and Mrs.Martin Eagen, East Gary, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Eagen and three children and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Eagen and two children,Chesterton, Mr and Mrs. Richard Peterson,Hennings MN and one daughter,and Mrs Zella Hanna of Pardeeville, Mrs. Daniel Stevenson of New Orleans was unable to be present. Dr. Dell Curtis, Neenah was here to visit the family on Tuesday evening but was not able to attend the funeral rites.
