Harold "Coke" Kocher, 88, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2008, at Majestic Oakes in Orange City, Fla.
Mr. Kocher was born in Harveys Lake and moved to Orange City in 1993 from St. Louis, Mo. He was retired as an executive for the YMCA after 45 years of service in New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania and, most recently, St. Louis. He was a member of the United Church of Christ, the Rotary Club and the Democratic National Committee.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty; daughter, Carolyn Fisher, State College, Pa.; sons, Ronald Kocher, Palm Coast, Fla.; and Jeff Kocher, Clermont, Fla.; grandchildren, Chris Kocher, Palm Coast; Tim Kocher, Port Orange; and Tiffany Climent, Lock Haven, Pa.; and sisters Jessie Swan, 94, of Lehman, and Vivian Moyer, 92, of Dallas.
A memorial service was held on June 27, 2008, at John Knox Village, Orange City, Fla. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2008 at the Kocher Cemetery, Ruggles, Pa. Arrangements are by Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home Inc., on the corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, Pa.
