Jessie A. Swan, 96, of Lehman, passed away Monday, October 4, 2010 at her home. Mrs. Swan was born June 24, 1914 in Lake Township, and was a daughter of the late Wallace and Laura Hoover Kocher.
She graduated from Laketon High School, Harveys Lake, in 1932.
She was employed in the food service department at Misericordia University at Dallas, and later for the Dunellen School District in New Jersey.
Mrs. Swan was a member of the Lehman-Idetown United Methodist Church, Lehman.
Her husband, Kenneth, died in 1992. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Howard, Harold, Donald and Kenneth Kocher; and sisters, Roxie Major, Mabel Adelman, Lena Major, Celestine Kocher and Vivian Moyer.
She is survived by daughters, Phyllis Cragle and her husband, Alvin, of Lehman; and Leanora Swan, with whom she resided; grandchildren, Kevin Cragle and his wife, Deborah, of Falls, and Todd Cragle and his wife, Wanda, of Lehman; and great-grandchildren, Cassandra and Taylor Ann Cragle.
A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Pikes Creek, with her pastor, the Rev. Beverly Butler, officiating.
Interment will be in the Kocher Cemetery, Ruggles.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
