Vivian Moyer, 93, of the Outlet Section of Lake Township, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2009, at Hospice Care of the VNA, Heritage House, Wilkes-Barre.

Mrs. Moyer was born in Lake Township, Feb. 21, 1916, and was a daughter of the late Wallace and Laura Hoover Kocher.

She graduated from Laketon High School in 1933 and the Wilkes-Barre School of Practical Nursing in 1968.

Prior to retiring, she was employed as an LPN by the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital and the Maple Hill Nursing Home, Lehman.

Vivian attended the Outlet Free Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; a grandson, Daniel Moyer; sisters Roxie Major, Mabel Elston Adelman, Lena Major and Celestine Kocher; brothers Howard, Harold, Donald and Kenneth Kocher.

Surviving are a daughter; Beverly Moyer, with whom she resided; son James H. Moyer and his wife, Barbara, of Lehman; grandsons James A. Moyer and his wife, Melissa, of Lehman, and Randy Moyer and his wife, Jessica, of Sweet Valley; three great-grandchildren; sister Jessie Swan, of Lehman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held Friday at 8 p.m. from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home Inc., corner of routes 29 & 118, Pikes Creek, with the Rev. James Shields, pastor of the Outlet Free Methodist Church, and the Rev. L.D. Reed, pastor of the Emmanuel Assembly of God Church, Harveys Lake, officiating.

Interment will be in the Kocher Cemetery, Ruggles. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. prior to the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to the Samaritans Purse International Relief, PO Box, 3000, Boone, NC 28607-3000.
