Mrs. John Curtis
Pardeeville Times February 24, 1911
Mrs Hattie Eagan was born in Iowa in April 1875 and came to the farm one mile south of Pardeeville at an early age where she lived and grew to womanhood among the many friends who now mourn her untimley departure. She was the Daughter of Mr and Mrs John Eagan and leaves besides her husband and children her parents and three sisters and four brothers.
The deceased was married to Mr. John Curtis April 12, 1896 who with two sons were born Dell(Adelbert) aged fourteen and Cephas aged thirteen and one daughter Carol aged two and a half. Survive to mourn the loss of one whose name is most precious in the family circle.
The funeral was held Tuesday from St. Mary's Church Rev. Father Smith conducting low mass. The interment was at Rocky Run. The large number of friends present at the funeral and the beautiful floral offerings all testified to the high esteem in which Mrs. Curtis was held by her large circle of friends.
Mrs Curtis was an active member of Spring Lake Camp R.N.A. and was there most valued member. She was also prominent figure in the activities of her Church. In social activities of the Village she was nearly always present.
Left with the care of the three children the father has the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community in his great affliction for where children are left the loss is more keenley felt in the home. Taken away in the prime of life to human words can express the sorrow of those most dear to the departed. We cannot understand these things now, but sometime the veil will be lifted from before are eyes and we shall know that " He doeth all things well"
