Funeral services for Doris M Brothers, 59, of 39 Liberty Ave., Massena, will be Wednesday at 10 am at Phillips Memorial Home, Massena, the Rev. Douglas Fowler officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday afternoon and evening. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Massena.
Mrs. Brothers died 8:12 am Sunday at the Massena Memorial Hospital, where she was taken March 16.
Surviving are her husband, Herbert J.; her father, Delbert Baxter, Ogdensburg; three sons, James V Barrigar, North Richville, Ohio, Wayne D Brothers, Manilus, and Robert J Brothers, Louisville; four daughters, Mrs. Ivan(Nancy)Wood, Mrs. Kenneth(Diana)Rhus, both of East Syracuse, Mrs. George(Penny)Eagles, Massena, and Mrs. Bruce(Sheila)Rist, Erie, Pa.; three brothers, Allen and Gaylord, both of Massena, and Daryl, Chase Mills; three sisters, Mrs. Lawrence(Irene)Smith, Canton, Mrs. Gordon(Dorothy) Arquette, Norfolk and Mrs. Daniel(Ruth)Roach, Ogdensburg; nine grandchildren. A son William died in infancy.
Mrs. Brothers was born July 20, 1926 in Stockholm, daughter of Delbert and Leora Nichols Baxter. She was educated in local schools, and on April 4, 1946 was married to Francis Barrigar. He predeceased her. She then was married to Herbert J Brothers on Feb. 14, 1962 in Norfolk. She was a member of VFW auxiliary No 1143.
