SERVICES HELD FOR JOHN MACIEJEWSKI, 95
Funeral Services were conducted Wednesday, Sept 21, at 9:30 o'clock a.m. at the St. Francis church of Ashton for John Maciejewski, 95, Rev. Michael Szczesny offered a requiem high mass and the school choir sang the mass. Burial was in the St Francis cemetery. Badura Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Dennis and Francis Maciejewski of Loup City, Jim Maciejewski of Kansas City, Mo., Johnny Maciejewski of Shelton, and Leo and Zigmund Maciejewski of Martin, SD
John, son of Michael and Jadwiga Maciejewski was born in Poznan, Poland, December 17, 1864. At the age of 16 he and his brother Thomas came to the United States to join their parents who had settled on a farm in Howard County. November 15, 1884 he was united in marriage to Balbina Marczynski at Posen. They farmed there and near Ashton until 1920 when they moved to Ashton.
Survivors are five sons, Ed. Of Martin, SD, Lonnie and Louie of Loup City, Edmund and Gregory of Ashton; five daughters, Theresa and Agnes of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Emily Kargus, Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Nellie Pray of Loup City and Mary of Ashton, 18 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.
Mr. Maciejewski was preceded in death by his parents, wife, who died in 1955, two sons, two daughters, three sisters and a brother.
