She was born Sept. 23, 1925, at Rice Lake to Fred and Ida (Leibly) Morneau. She was married in Barron on Oct. 29, 1949, to Edward John Jilek, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are sisters, Laurene Sirek of Rice Lake, Bernice Malum of Chetek, and Gertrude Harsh of Canton, Mich.; a brother, Ed (Ardella) Morneau of Dallas; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her husband, Rita was preceded in death by siblings, Viola Gabriel, Alfred Morneau, Ray Morneau, Frank Morneau, Marie Ostrum, and Joe Morneau.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12, from Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Dobie, with Father Dave Oberts officiating and burial at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Cemetery.
