Elder George Simons officiated. Special music were the sons, "Shall We Meet at the River?" and "In the Sweet By and By," sung by Mrs. E. E. Regester and Mrs. Mason. Burial was in the family plot in the Masonic Cemetery.
Christian Zurcher was born in Switzerland December 24, 1864. He emigrated with the family to Oregon while still a young boy. The family settled in Washington County where he attended school. On October 26, 1889 he married Rosa Truehart, also a native of Switzerland, who came to America when a young woman.
For a time the family continued to live in Washington County before coming to Linn County, 22 years ago. They first settle on a farm at Griggs and about 14 years ago moved into Lebanon.
Mrs. Zurcher died December 31, 1924 since which time Christian Zurcher has made his home with his children at Lebanon.
Survivors are five sons, John, Fred, Emil, and Clarence, all of Lebanon; Louis of Portland; nine daughters, Mrs. Louise Saltmarsh, Mrs. Bertha Richards and Mrs. Lille Lee, all living at Lebanon; Mrs. Betty McFarland and Mrs. Lydia Griffin, both of Salem; Mrs. Clara Emmons of Oakland, California; Mary and Emma of Portland, and Mrs. Grace Yarnell of Vancouver, B. C.; there are also 16 grandchildren and many distant relatives in this country and in Switzerland.
