Root, Mrs. Edna Howard, 48, 8333 N. Seneca St., Portland, died March 25 in a local hospital. She was born March 3, 1918 in Kelso. She was raised in Kelso and attended Kelso schools. She was employed at Meier & Frank in Portland for many years.
Survivors include the widower, John F. Root; one son, John Jr. of Portland; three sisters, Mrs. Lillian Carpenter of Beaverton, Ore; Mrs. LaVerne Beagle of Kelso and Mrs.. Norman Houghton of Portland; one brother,, Marion Howard of Napavine, Wash.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the St John's Funeral Home in Portland.
