Funeral services for Robert B. Steckman, 62, of Carnegie were held Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Richard's Catholic Chruch in Carnegie with Father Mario Pulugujju and Father Mark Mason officiating. Wake services were held Monday, Feb. 21at 7:00 p.m. at the Pitcher-Hackney Funeral Home Chapel in Carnegie.
Robert was born November 24, 1942 to George E. and Leona (Huckleberry) Steckman in Apache and died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005 at the Tri-County Hospital in Carnegie.
He was a graduate of Carnegie High School. He served his country in the Army Reserves for six years. Robert was united in marriage to Linda Ziegler on May 23, 1970 at Grainfield, Kansas. From this union was born one daughter and two sons. He did custom harvesting for 20 years and owned and operated his won auto paint and body shop in Carnegie. He was a perfectionist and was very skilled with his hands. Robert loved fishing and gardening. He loved his wife and family very much and his grandchildren were very special to him. He was a member of the St. Richard's Catholic Church in Carnegie.
Robert will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife, Linda, of the home; one daughter, Gena Renae Gorman and husband, John of Fort Cobb; Two sons, Erik Robet Steckman, of Colony and Justin Don Steckman of Weatherford; three grandchildren, Kidy Gorman; one brother, Charles Steckman, of Carnegie; two sisters, Barbara See and husband, Herman of Carnegie and Marilyn Willcox of Tulsa; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Leona Steckman. Burial was in the Carnegie Cemetery under the direction of Pitcher-Hackney Funeral Home in Carnegie.
