Harriet Tennessee (Taylor) Vandervort was born on December 2, 1867 in Cheatham County, Tennessee, the daughter of John "Edward" Taylor (1835–1906) and Mary Catherine Harrison (Cullom) Taylor (1842–1912).
She was married about 1888 to Cyrus Wallace Vandevort (1865–1939).
Living at 1516 Arthur Avenue, Nashville, she was 57 years old when she died at home of apoplexy on December 8, 1925. Burial was two days later in Spring Hill Cemetery.
