John was the son of Edward James Willman and Maggie Hambrick. On 27 Sep 1917 he married Elmira Hayes and they had one son, John. They divorced in 1920. Five years later, on 28 Dec 1922, he married his second wife, Sarah Wilhelm, and they had one child, Thelma. John was a US Army veteran of World War I. He served in Company E, 159th United Stated Infantry. For many years he worked in the plumbing industry. John died of a cerebral vascular accident at the Veterans Administration Hospital at the age of 62.
