Services for Ava Ellen Smith, 92, formerly of Bridgeport, will be held at the Petrolia United Methodist Church, Bridgeport. Burial will be in the Derr Cemetery, the Rev. Duane Ambrose and Edgar Craig officiating. Visitation will be at the Cunningham Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

Mrs. Smith died at 9:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, 1986 at the DeeWood Nursing Center in Sumner.

She was born March 9, 1894 in Crawford County, the daughter of Sanford Dunlap and Rebecca Southern. She married Charles Smith on June 2, 1914, who preceded her in death in 1958. She was a member of the Petrolia United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons: Carson Smith, Olney, and Ray Smith, Blissing, Texas; daughters Maxine Maas, Granite City, June Baldwin and Bonnie Mills of Sumner, Marjorie Wilharm, Elgin, Verna Mae Lismen, Peoria and Mary Legg of Chancey; a brother Luther Dunlap of Douglas, Ka.; 21 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
