Mrs. A J Harrington, 66, Dies Wednesday; Rites This Afternoon

Mrs. Flora Harrington died suddenly yesterday afternoon after an illness of a few days. She would have reached her sixty-sixth birthday in March.

A native of Chickasaw County, she was, before her marriage to the late A J Harrington Sr., Miss Florence McElreath.

"Miss Flora", as she was generally known, had been an invalid for several years, being almost totally blind. In spite of her affliction she was always cheerful and thoughtful of others and especially was she devoted to children.

She was a faithful member of the Baptist Church, and until her health failed served as secretary of the Homemakers Sunday School Class.

Until recently she was connected with the Woodman Circle Insurance Society. Through this work she was widely known.

The funeral service will be held this afternoon at 2:30 at the Baptist Church with the Rev. W C Stewart, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Houston Cemetery.

Mrs. Harrington leaves three sons, A D, and A C Harrington, of Houston, and A J Harrington, Jr., of Montpelier; and two granddaughters, Nancy Shirley Harrington, of Montpelier, and Gwendolyn Harrington, of Houston.
