Delila Hokanson Dana, 77, of Green River died Sunday, Feb 14, 1997 at the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County in Rock Springs after a sudden illness.
Funeral services were held Wednesday Feb 19, 1997 at the Green River LDS 3rd Ward. Graveside services and interment were held at the Thayne City Cemetery.
She was born May 12, 1919 in Lewiston UT to Hokan and Sara Ann Van Orden Hokanson. She attended schools in Thayne and Afton. She married Irwin Roberts Dana on Aug 27, 1938 in Paris ID, Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple on Nov 17, 1968. He preceded her in death on Aug 14, 1993.
Delila never worked outside the home but made a career of raising her family. She loved her music,k sewing, crafts, grandchildren and teaching piano. She ws a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many callings and was an organist since the age of 11.
Serviving family members include two sons Reed Dana of Green River and Ralph Dana of West Valley City UT; four daughters, Ann Bruce of Green River, Dorene Deardurff of San Leandro CA, Vicky Reed of Vernal UT and Julie Miller of Rock Springs, one sister Nellie Walker of Afton; 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three granddaughters, two brothers and six sisters.
