Levin Oliver
The article states that Levin Oliver was a war of 1812 patriot and soldier "who migrated to Kentucky from Virginia in an early day". It does not seem likely that he was involved in the War of 1812 as he would have been 13 or so. Perhaps they are conflating family stories and it was his father Nathan Oliver that did this. The article goes on to say Levin was a flat-boatman on the Cumberland, Ohio and Mississippi rivers down to New Orleans, but prior to that time he had also fought the British at the battle of New Orleans in 1812 and was one of only seventeen American soldiers wounded in that historic engagement (again this seems unlikely). Levin married Sophia Barnett, daughter of James Barnett, "in his native state" so we presume they mean he was married in Virigina. Levin reared his children in Kentucky. He came to Texas with the family in 1843, and died in Fannin county February 1870.

The children of Levin Oliver and Sophia Barnett were:
Mary Evaline Oliver, who died in Fannin county as the wife of Miles Davis;
Elizabeth "Betsey" Oliver, wife of Andrew Oliver, died in Fannin county;
Lydia Oliver, who married Elijah W. Cummins and died in Fannin county in 1902;
Sallie Oliver, who became Mrs. Talton Gray and died in Fannin county;
Margaret Oliver married James Pile, who lived in Fannin county;
Nancy Howard Oliver, wife of Rev. Reece; Lee, of Fannin county,
Robert Oliver, an ex-Confederate soldier, who died at Tahlequah, Indian Territory.

-------------------------------------------

Nancy Oliver Lee is buried here as well.
Nancy Howard OLIVER was the second wife of Rev. Reece Davis Lee, married on 3 May 1866 in Fannin Co., Texas. She was born 8 Jan 1832 in Caldwell, Kentucky, and died 22 Feb 1917. Reece Davis LEE was born 11 Dec 1831 in Jackson County, Tennessee, and died 5 Nov 1913 in Fannin County, Texas. He came from the same county in Tennessee as the father of James Rufus Rogers, who married Mary Evaline's daughter Mary Melissa Davis.
