Deshler Rustler, Oct. 27, 1975. Mrs. Anna Gerberding was born to Carl Elting and his wife, Christine nee Schardt on Oct. 2, 1893, at Carleton NE.

She was baptized into the Christian faith on Oct. 15, 1893, in Trinity Lutheran Church, Friedensau, by the Rev. Wm. Cholcher. On Apr. 12, 1908 she was confirmed in Trinity Lutheran Church, Friedensau, by Pastor H. Schabacker.

She entered the holy estate of matrimony with Herman Neuhart on May 18, 1916. The Lord blessed this union with three children, Reuben, Norbert and Olga. Mr. Neuhart passed away on Jan. 18, 1932.

Mrs. Neuhart was married to William Gerberding on Oct. 12, 1934, in Trinity Lutheran Church by Pastor Theo Droegemueller. Mr. Gerberding passed away on October 5, 1966.

Mrs. Gerberding was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, one son, Norbert, one grandchild, five sisters and two brothers. The immediate survivors are her son, Reuben and wife Mathilda of Carleton; daughter Olga and husband Clarence Eitzmann of Lincoln; daughter-in-law Mrs. Lucille Neuhart, Hebron; stepdaughter, Lorna and husband Henry Fangmeyer, Jansen; two step-sons, Paul Gerberding and wife Opal of Hebron, and Harold Gerberding and wife Inez, Deshler.

Also surviving are a sister, Hulda, Mrs. Adolph Vortman of Deshler; four sisters-in-law, Mrs. Bertha Elting of Chester IL; Mrs. Wm. (Mathilda) Naylor and Mrs. Augusta Oeltjen of Fairbury, and Mrs. Otto (Anna) Jens of Parkview Haven, Deshler; 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends.

The funeral service was conducted by Pastor John Kovac in St. Peter Lutheran Church last Wednesday afternoon. His sermon was based on Mt. 25:14. The congregational hymns were "Who Knows When Death May Overtake Me" and "I'm But A Stranger Here."

Casket bearers were Gerald Vortman, Leonard Elting, Martin Neuhart, James Wassom, Glenn Elting and Carl Picha. Burial took place in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery (Friedensau), Hebron.

Arrangements were in charge of Ahrendts Funeral Home, Deshler. Among relatives here from a distance for the funeral were Mrs. Wm. Muller, Mrs. Ida Bodtke, Mrs. Wm. Naylor and Mrs. August Oeltjen of Fairbury; Mrs. Art Behrends and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Fangmeyer of Jansen; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Gerberding of Beatrice; Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Fangmeyer and children and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Gerberding and family of Geneva; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Eitzmann and family and Mr. and Mrs. Steven Eitzmann of Lincoln and Judy Neuhart of Muskogee OK.
