He died in Memorial Hospital. A graduate of Logansport High School, he earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in education from Indiana State University, attending college from 1967 to 1972. A professional teacher for 28 years, he taught two years at New Prairie, two years at North White, eight years at Maconaquah and 16 years at Logansport High School, where he served as the department head of the LHS Math Department. He served as the assistant coach for the LHS boys and girls swim teams. For three years he coached the Logansport Middle School Cross Country Team and volunteered for two years with the LHS Cross Country Team. He coached Babe Ruth Baseball for 25 years, serving with the Youth League for five years.
