He married Ida F Leibly in abt 1908. They were on the 1910 census for Rice Lake, Barron, Wisconsin; living with Ida's parents and family; married 2 years; he was a farm laborer. They were on the 1920 census for Oak Grove, Barron, Wisconsin; he was listed as Fred; a general farmer. They were on the 1930 census for Maple Grove, Barron, Wisconsin; he was a general farmer. They had 11 children.
He died at Lakeside hospital in Rice Lake, Barron, Wisconsin. Services were by Appleyard's Home for Funerals on November 24, 1976 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Dobie, Fr. Brendan Kunda officiating. Burial was in The Church Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida, in 1963 and by a daughter, Viola. He was survived by five sons, Alfred of Neillsville, Raynold of Rice Lake, Joseph of Prairie Farm, Francis of St. Paul and Edward of Dallas; five daughters, Laurene Sirek and Rita Jilek of Rice Lake, Bernice Malum of Chetek, Marie Ostrum of St. Paul and Gertrude Harsh of Novi, Michigan and by 33 grandchildren, 58 great grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.
