He was born in Oak Grove, Dodge, Wisconsin where he grew up and attended Dobie Catholic School. After finishing his education, Mr. Morneau was a farm laborer and later a cheese factory laborer in the Town of Long Lake.
In October 1942, he entered the Navy and served in the European-African-Middle East and Asiatic-Pacific campaigns. Mr. Morneau then owned and operated the Pleasant Creek Cheese Factory in Prairie Farm for 10 years. He then sold the business and worked on bridge construction along Interstate Hwy. 94. He later operated an electrical business in Prairie Farm until his retirement in 1979. He later moved to Rice Lake and then to Mikana. His companion was Ruby Alderman.
He died in Mikana, Barron, Wisconsin. Services were at St. Joseph Catholic Church,
Rice Lake on November 9, 2002. Fr. Kevin Gordon officiating. Interment at Nora Cemetery by Jarocki Funeral Home, Rice Lake, Barron, Wisconsin.
Joseph is survived by a brother, Edward Morneau of Dallas, Wisconsin; 4 sisters, Lorraine Sirek and Rita Jelik, both of Rice Lake, Bernice Malum of Chetek and Gertrude Harsh of Canton, Michigan.
