John Campbell Roope, 87, of Route 1, Pulaski, died Friday in Radford Community Hospital. He is survived by his widow Mrs. Bertie Hamblin Roope and seven sons, Fred Roope and Ralph Roope, Pulaski; Roy Roope, Dublin; Emory Roope, Wytheville; Guy Roope, Columbus, Ohio; Ray Roope, Darlington, MD and Carl Roope, Florida. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. today at Goshen Methodist Church in Bland with Interment in the Goshen Cemetery.
Rev. Lonnle Fields and Rev. Paul Freeman will officiate. The body will be at the home of his son, Fred Roope in Pulaski, until early today when the body will be taken to the church In Bland. Newberry Funeral Home in Bland is in charge of arrangements.
