Services for John Alvin Lowe, Sr., 54, of Dublin will be held at 2 p.m. today, Interment will follow in the Ussery Family Cemetery. Rev. Dewayne Beddingfield will officiate.

Mr. Lowe died Friday. He was born in Charleston, SC at the Naval Hospital where his father was stationed in the US Navy. Before moving to Dublin, Mr. Lowe lived in Dunwoody, GA for 29 years. He was a member of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Lowe served in the US Navy during the Viet Nam war. Mr. Lowe was a Master Mazda Technician and the owner of Maz-Lowe in Buckhead-Atlanta for many years. He was the first Master Mazda Tech on the east coast in the sixties. He won the Walter Mitty Challenge Race at Road Atlanta in 1986. He was an avid fisherman, scuba diver and was a loyal NASCAR and football fan. He was a past member of the VFW Post 66. Mr. Lowe was preceded in death by his parents, Marton and Louise Davis Lowe; sister Cathy Ensley and Brother Marton Lowe, Jr. all of Virginia Beach, VA.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Manning Lowe of Dublin; children, John (Pam) Lowe, Jr. of Missouri, Krystall (Brent) Woodall of Lawrenceville, Jamie (Kayle) Cowherd of Greensboro, GA and Tiffany (Clay) Starling of Buford; stepchildren, Chris (Marsha) Perry of Dublin and Emily Perry (Trey) Giles of Americus; grandchildren, Wade and David Lowe of Missouri; step-grandchildren, Leah and Drew Spivey; Rachel and Will Perry; sisters, Faye Kopa and June Sanders of Norfolk, VA; sister in law, Charlotte (Jimmy) Harrell of Milledgeville; brothers in law, Al (Judy) Manning of Dublin and Phillip (Patsy) Manning of Dublin; and the mother of his children, Paula Lowe of Dunwoody, GA.

John Lowe, Jr., Kayle Cowherd, Brent Woodall, Jimmy Lowe, Aaron Stewart and Brian Herringdine will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will include Chris Perry, Trey Giles, Clay Starling, Drew Spivey, Donald Russell, Jimmy Harrell, Jay Harrell, Al Manning, Phillip Manning, Jason Manning, Aaron Manning.
