On December 26, 1888, she was united in marriage to Charles L. Spridgen. To this union were born three children, Lewis A. of Muscatine; Ray, of Williamson, and Zoe Drake, of Hampton. She moved here from Decatur, Illinois when but eleven years old and had lived the remainder of her life in Clarke county, having lived on the present Spridgen farm near Last Chance, for 60 years.
She leaves to mourn her passing the three children, three sisters, two brothers, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was baptized into the Last Chance church on October 21, 1902, under the ministry of the Rev. Butterfield. The latter part of her life was made up largely of illness and much suffering but she sought to look to the only source of help for her needs and trusted that God was able to care for her in her distress.
Final rites were held at the Last Chance church Sunday, October 31, at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Virgil Swanson, of Chariton Gospel Center officiating. Burial was made in the Last Chance cemetery.
