Henry F. Achord died at 11:28 p.m., November 14, 1955, at his residence after an extended illness. A native of Livingston Parish, he was 78.

Survived by his wife, the former Beulah Harris; 10 sons, Louis, Ponchatoula; J.W., Percy, and Wilson, all of Walker; Willie, Allen, Milton, Lawrence and Curtis all of Baton Rouge; and Huey, U.S. Air Force, Alaska; four daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Haxx and Mrs. Enos Martin, both of Baton Rouge; and Mrs. Pat Fortinberry and Mrs. Alfred Laine, both of New Orleans. Also survived by a sister, Mrs. Cassie Covington, Livingston; three brothers, Willis, William and Van, all of Livingston Parish; 67 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. He was the father of five other children now deceased.

Body to rest at Hollabaugh-Seale Funeral Home for viewing. Religious services at Bethel Temple Church, with the Rev. Earl Eccles and the Rev. W.N. Marshal officiating. Interment in Gray's Creek Cemetery.
