Survived by his wife, Mrs. Beatrice Burns Achord, Denham Springs; six sons, Milburn Achord, Walker, Elgin Achord, Murfreesboro, Tenn., Bert Achord, Watson, Norris and Terry Achord, both of Denham Springs, and Billy Rushing, Denham Springs; two sisters, Mrs. Ira Achord Fortenberry, Baton Rouge, and Mrs. Bradie Achord Martin, Denham Springs; seven brothers, Wilson Achord, Walker, Percy, Alton, Curtis and Melton Achord, all of Denham Springs, Huey and Willie Achord, both of Baton Rouge; 18 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by two sons, Merlin Wayne Achord and Thomas L. Rushing.
He was a member of the South Walker Christian Assembly Church.
