Mrs. John Saathoff, 85, a resident of the Miller, Nebraska, community since 1909, died at her home September 3, 1954. She had been in failing health since the death of her husband in February of this year.

Mrs. Saathoff, the former Mary Christine/Christina Juhl, was born in Vilstrup, Haderslev, Denmark, and came to America with her parents when four years of age. The family's first home was in Iowa. She was married to John Johnson Saathoff at Valparaiso, Nebraska, in 1895, where they lived until coming to a farm west of Miller in 1909.

Mary became a member of the Christian Church in 1901. The couple moved into the town of Miller in 1925.

Survivors include three sons, Edward and John "Ehden" of Miller, and Herbert of Midwest, Wyoming; three daughters, Mrs. Tillie Davis, Des Moines, Iowa; Mrs. Mary Kearney, Midwest, Wyoming; and Mrs. Anna Baker of Miller; and on sister, Mrs. Anna Madsen, Hawarden, Iowa. There are 12 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at the Miller Christian Church, with Elder Clifford Bragg of Kearney officiating. Burial will be in the Miller Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jim Berkheimer, J.R. Baker, Merle Clark, Lloyd Dockweiler, D.E. Holliday, and Ross Ehresman. The Peterson Funeral Home of Elm Creek is in charge.
