Port Hope- Ewald C Marqardt, 84, died Saturday night in Yale Community Hospital after a short illness.
Mr Marquardt was born June 28, 1876, in Port Hope, where he lived all his life except for the past eight years that he has lived in Applegate, where he made his home with his son Fred Marquardt.
Mr Marquardt and Amelia Pochert were married in 1897 in Port Hope. She died in 1950.
Survivors are five sons, Walter, Grindstone City, Hugo, Flint, Gustave, Port Hope: and Herbert and Fred Marquardt , Applegate; two brothers, Gustave, Monroe and Otto Marquardt of Port Hope; two sisters, Mrs Wanda Lawitzke, Port Hope and Mrs Amelia Crosson.
