OBITUARY

Harold Eugene Smith, age 72, former resident of Fort Scott, died Tuesday July 9, 2002, at his home in Denver, Colorado. Harold was born May 5, 1930, in Fort Scott, the son of Ivan Louis Smith and Alice Faye Embry Smith. He never married. He retired in 1987 from the Frisco and Burlington Northern Railroad. Harold served with the United States Army during the Korean War.

Survivors include two brothers, Bill Smith, Fort Worth, Texas, and Gary Smith, Austin, Texas; three sisters, Rosalie Cox, Fort Scott, Janice Pent and Joyce Johnson, both of Kansas City.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
