Funeral for Lynn Edward Cross, 94, of Courtland, will be Sunday, April 26, 2009, at 3 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Scottie Letson officiating.
Burial will be in Courtland City Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 to 3p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Cross, who died Friday, April 24, 2009, at Decatur General Hospital, was born March 22, 1915, in Lawrence County, to Bascom Cross and Jimmie Cross. He was a retired self-employed cotton farmer and avid fisherman. His wife, Ruby Rose Cross, preceded him in death.
Survivors include one son, Wayland Cross and wife, Jackie, of Courtland; two daughters, Shelby Carlton and husband, Doug, of Killen, and Ava Estes and husband, John, of Jackson, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Cross, Shannon Carlton, Scott Estes, Jacob Sprinkle, Ty Carlton and Boyce Holderfield.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rudy McCarley, Buddy Simmons, Dan Simmons, J. C. Rose and Cary Hotchkiss.
