Veda Broadhead Brierley beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend to all she met, was tragically taken from our lives on April 28, 2009 at the age of 73.Born February 25, 1936 in Heber City Utah to Charles Darwin and Nellie (Steele) Broadhead. She married Lowell Bob Brierley September 13, 1963. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Veda was an avid rock hound. No rock was safe when Mom was around. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, camping with the extended family, going to yard sales, and spending the winters with all of her dear friends in Arizona. She was well liked by all who knew her and she enjoyed people. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She is survived by husband Lowell, Heber City, UT; four children, Wayne (Sue) Brierley, Elko, NV, Lynn (Beth) Brierley, Coalville, Valerie (Paul) Madsen, Cambridge, Ontario, Richard Brierley, Heber City, UT; 14 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; brothers Max (Grace) Broadhead, and Jay Broadhead; sister Ora Simpson; Sister-in-law Elma Broadhead; and many nieces and nephews. Veda is preceded in death by parents, brother Loren, son Blain, and grandson Andy. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 4, 2009, 11:00 a.m. at the Heber City 8th Ward, 650 South 1200 West, Heber City. Friends may call Sunday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Olpin-Hoopes Funeral Home, 288 N Main, Heber City and at the ward house Monday at 9:30 a.m. Interment, Heber City Cemetery.
