Moses Kring
1833 ~ Feb. 20, 1991

Salix PA.--Moses Kring was born in Salix Pennsylvania in 1833, the son of John and Elizabeth (Varner) Kring, of Salix PA. Moses spent his youth plating, fishing, and helping his father and brother work the family farm.

In the spring of 1855, in Cambria County, PA., Moses married the former Susan (Vioma) Donmyer, of Salix.

Moses made his living, like his father and grandfather, by farming his land. As a side business, Moses built and operated a sawmill, supplying lumber for all his neighbors. Being God fearing people, the Kring's were members of the Evangelical Association Church, of Salix.

The marriage of Moses and Susan was blessed with eleven children, seven sons and four girls; Albert (1856-1934), Israel (1858-1906), John (1859-1937), Lewis 1861-1936), George (1866-1881), Danial (1874-1874), Moses (1876-1953); Anna (1863-1941), Rose (1864- 1864, Della (1968-1907), Jennie (1874-1949).

On Feb. 20, 1891, in his home in Salix, Moses passed away after a shot illness, surrounded by his love ones.
