Hyde Park, Utah: Jenness F. Hurren passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at her son's home in Ogden, Utah. She was born on December 4, 1918 in Smithfield, Utah to Lafayette Armstrong and Mary Ann Delaney Fulkerson. She was the youngest of nine children. Living in Smithfield she attended local schools. She graduated from North Cache High School and attended U.S.U. She was affiliated with Alpha Chi Sorority. She married Sidney F. Hurren in 1940. Together they had four sons, Thomas S. Hurren of Hyde Park, Utah; Robert J. Hurren of Ogden, Utah; Michael C. Hurren, deceased; and John D. Hurren of Montpelier, Idaho. She worked as a homemaker and a mother and she also worked as a receptionist at the Smithfield Clinic for 21 years. Later she volunteered at the Logan Regional Hospital for 20 years. She very much enjoyed the relationships with the staff workers and patients. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and for many years she enjoyed singing in the Hyde Park Ward Choir. For many years, she and her sisters performed around the Cache Valley area in many singing engagements. Her hobbies were gardening. She had beautiful roses. She was also a member of several bridge clubs and she spent many hours working crossword puzzles. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney F. Hurren; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Gayle Taylor Hurren, two brothers, James Fulkerson and Robert Fulkerson; and six sisters, Mrs. Wiliam (Bessie) Smith, Mrs. Ron (Mabel) Hendricks, Mrs. Ronald (Mary ) Pitcher, Mrs. Ira (Lois) Moosman, Mrs. Jack (Bonnie) Parson, and Mrs. Wilford (Dorothy) Parson. She is survived by 3 sons, Tom, Robert (Susan), and John (Debbie), and by 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. We appreciate the love and care she was given and the Logan Regional Hospital, Sunshine Terrace and Applegate hospice Care. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 22, 2009 at the Allen-Hall Mortuary. A viewing will be held on Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the mortuary and prior to services on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Interment will be in the Hyde Park Cemetery.
