(This) Robert Field was born at the White Hill Plantation near Bordentown, NJ. The plantation is now located in the town of Fieldsboro, NJ. He was a son of (Father)Robert Field (1775-1810) and Abigail Stockton Field (1773-1858). Abigail was the daughter of Richard Stockton of Princeton, NJ. He was a signer of the Declaration of Independence. Her mother was Annis Boudinot (1736-1801. (Father) Robert and Abigail had six children: (This) Robert Field, Annis Stockton Field (1799-1823), Mary Field (Dunbar) (1801-1875), Julia Field (1802-1802), Richard Stockton Field (1803-1870) and Hannah Boidinot Field (1806-1880).
(This) Robert Field married in 1822, Charlotte Marie Celeste Brooks (1806-1881). She was a daughter of William Brooks (1764-1821) and Elizabeth Marie Celeste Hutchins (1768-1812), married in 1803. A will of Elizabeth's implies that there were two daughters. Only Charlotte survived to adulthood. William and Elizabeth were the owners of Anchorage Plantation in Natchez, MS. Robert and Charlotte had seven children: Annis Eliza Field (Enders) (1828-1873) findagrave # 118419426, Julia Field (1830-1830), Charlotte Brooks Field (1837-1857), Robert Field (1842-1909), William Brooks Field (1844-1903), Mary Dunbar Field (1849-1867) and Hannah Boudinot Field.
Robert was visiting his sister Mary Field Dunbar of the Forest Plantation, south of Natchez when he died of Malaria. Mary Field Dunbar's findagrave #39036618.
Charlotte survived this Robert and married John T Griffith in 1851. After his death she married Reverend Howard C Crane.
