On July 9, 1934 he married Veta G. Smith of Powell, Wyoming. They brought to this earth four children, Dorman F. Emmett of Billings, Montana, Janet E. Alexander of Vancouver, Washington, and Jay G. Emmett of Lovell, Wyoming. Jay's twin brother, Kay S. Emmett passed away following a long illness at the age of 22, April 18, 1975. Veta died January 1, 1963.
"Turk" as friends knew him, left 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, all residing in the states of Montana, Wyoming, Washington, and Oregon.
Turk made his living in various business by owning the Valley Feed and Supply, buying and selling and using his trucks for short hauls and long mountain hauls. His winch truck helped pull objects from ditches and helped move the caboose to where it sits in Caboose Park. He also aided in moving the locomotive engine on display at the sugar factory.
He enjoyed his boats and picnicing in the Big Horn Mountains and Yellowstone Park. He was an avid big game hunter and had mounted heads from Alaska and Wyoming. Fishing took him to the mountains and the ocean.
