Bernice Harriet "Bunny" Chandler, 78, of Bemidji, died Sunday, March 23, 2003, in Havenwood Care Center of Bemidji. The funeral was at Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home in Bemidji. Burial will be in the Nary Cemetery in Hubbard County.
She was born to Harry and Avis (Smith) Kelley on Sept. 19, 1924, near Eagle Bend, Minn. She attended school and lived in Eagle Bend until she was 12 and lived and went to school in Bemidji, graduating from Bemidji High School in 1942.
She married Howard Chandler in Bemidji on Sept. 24, 1942. She worked at Sears before being a stay-at-home mother.
She is survived by her sons, Dennis (Kathleen ) Chandler of Vermillion, S.D.., Michael Chandler of Tucson, Ariz., and David (Marie) Chandler of Bemidji; daughter, Mary Jane Chandler of Bemidji; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and sister, Audrey Heiren of Thief River Falls, Minn.
