MRS. SMITH

ROANOKE, Ala. -- Mrs. Ida Huddleston Smith, 94, of Roanoke died Monday, May 14, 2001 at Traylor Nursing Home in Roanoke.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 16 at 11 a.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Ridley Parmer and Virginia Newton officiating. Burial followed in Randolph Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter, Icie Smith Mitchum of Roanoke; two sons, John Winfred Smith and Arnold M. Smith, both of Roanoke; two sisters, Mamie H. Dalrymple of Newnan, Ga., and Nettie H. Hester of Roanoke; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Born Nov. 8, 1906, Mrs. Smith was a lifelong resident of Randolph County. She owned and operated Smith's Grocery. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Cosby Smith. She was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Lou Alice Jeter Huddleston.

ROANOKE, Ala. -- Mrs. Ida Huddleston Smith, 94, of Roanoke died Monday, May 14, 2001 at Traylor Nursing Home in Roanoke.
