Mary C. Hopkins, 88, of Painesville, died Friday at the Geneva Health Care Center in Geneva after a long illness.

She was born May 8, 1895 in Green Bay, Wis., a daughter of the late Capt. Charles F. and Mary Jacobson Ahlstrom, and was a Painesville resident for 82 years.

She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Painesville for 82 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. George (Marge) Thomas of Madison; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clayton C. in 1942; and 11 brothers and sisters, the last of which was Harvey Ahlstrom in 1983.
