Mrs Scherf, 64, TAKEN BY DEATH
Was Livelong Resident of Springfield
Mrs Elizabeth Scherf 64 of 700 Thirteenth street, widow of Frank Scherf, liflong resident of Springfield, died at 9:45 a.m. yesterday at St John's hospital after an illness of two years. She entered the hospital last Wednesday.
She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Frances Hogan, Mrs Josephine Grady, Miss Clara Sherf and Miss Helen Scherf, all of this city; and Lt. Louise C. Scherf, US army, stationed in India; three sons, John, Albert, and Frank Jr., all of this city, and one brother August Zender, city.
Her daughter, Lueutenant Scherf, was formerly a nurse at St Joh's hospital and enlisted in the army last July. She was sent to India from Fort Sheridan, when she requested overseas duty.
Mrs Scherf was a member of the Altar and Rosary society of the Sacred Heart church. Remains were removed to the Kirlin & Egan funeral home where funeral services will be held at 8:30 am Wednesday and at 9 am at the Sacred Heart church. Rev JJ Goff will officaite and burial will be in Clavary cemetery.
