Mrs. Lena Loechner, 91, of Loveland died Friday, Aug 15 at a Loveland nursing home after an extended illness.
She was born June 29, 1889, at Baden, Germany, to Reinhard and Christine (Zimmerman) Herbster.
She married Daniel Bauer May 19, 1910, at Sutton, Neb. He died in 1945. She then married Chris Gehring in 1947 at Loveland. He died in 1960. She then married Gottlieb Loechner in 1973 at Loveland.
Mrs. Loechner came to the U.S. when she was three years old. She came to Colorado in 1919 and to Loveland in 1923.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Loveland.
She is survived by her husband, Gottlieb of Loveland; eight daughters, Ruth Bradford of Farmington, N.M., Leona Lebsack of Springdale, Ark., Martha Keil of Greeley, Louise Williams of San Jose, Calif., Lydia Keil of Platteville, Edna May Magruder of Colorado Springs, Lorraine Bauer of Berthoud and Florence Brown of South Africa; five sons, William Bauer of Platteville, Albert Bauer of Huntington Park, Calif., Edwin Bauer of Lynwood, Calif., Samuel Bauer of Paramount, Calif., and Daniel Bauer of Loveland; two sisters, Elisa Zogg of Pocatello, Idaho, and Freida Bliss of Loveland; two brothers, Albert Herbster and Herman Herbster, both of Falls City, Neb.; 10 stepchildren, 45 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Monday at Trinity United Methodist Church, Loveland. Interment Lakeside Cemetery, Loveland.
Memorial gifts may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church or Loveland Good Samaritan Retirement Village in care of Hunter’s Funeral Home, Loveland.
