L. J. Snyder, former Tuscaloosa County jailer, was found dead beside his automobile early this morning on the Watermelon Road six miles from Northport. Bernard LeSeuer, mail carrier, discovered the body and notified the sheriff's office.
Mr. Snyder made his home near Northport. He served as jailer during part of the administration of former sheriff John Henry Suther.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday from the Bethel Church with interment in the church cemetery by Jones and Spigener.
Surviving are his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Herbert Flora, Holt; two sons, Robert Snyder, Holt; and Eugene Snyder, Northport; a brother, Billy Snyder, Northport; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Rushing, Northport; and a grandchild.
