Funeral Mass was said at 10 a.m. Saturday for Edward Dowling, 81, at St. Dominic Church in this city, interment following in the family lot in St. Rose Cemetery. Pallbearers were Len Clarkson, A.H. Barber, Oscar Boldrick, Tommy Dowling, Arvie Mudd and Billy Dowling. Mr. Dowling died at 3:30 a.m. Thursday, September 28, 1967 at the family residence on Virginia Avenue of infirmities incident to age. He was a carpenter and cabinet maker with Kelly Lumber Company here for many years but retired some years ago. Survivors include his widow, formerly Miss Effie Mattingly; two daughters, Miss Ethel Dowling, this city, and Mrs. Ben Barlow, Frankfort; four sons, Walter Dowling, Bardstown; Edward and Robert Dowling, Campbellsville, and Foster Dowling, Louisville; thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. His parents, Hilary and Eliza Smith Dowling, preceded him in death many years ago. Mr. Dowling was prepared and rested in Hale & Polin Funeral Home here, awaiting interment.
