Fever Causes Death
Of Clifford Coffey

Henry Clifford Coffey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter C. Coffey, was born May 20, 1911, at Lindsay, Okla., and passed from this life Sunday, Aug. 5, 1928, at 12 o'clock p.m. He was 17 years 2 months and 16 days of age.

Deceased moved with his parents to Davis in 1914 and has lived here ever since, with the exception of a few months.

Clifford was getting just at that age in which he could appreciate his father and his companionship. He had been working on the farm with his father and was delighted in his work.

Clifford was never sick prior to this illness, to speak of, in his life time. His illness came as a complete shock to his family and friends. On July 21 he developed the fever, that later proved to be typhoid. Kind and sympathetic medical assistance was rendered and friends gave freely of their love and assistance but death had come and no power of man could stay its hand.

Clifford showed no immediate danger until last Saturday, when a change came and he sank very rapidly.

He leaves to mourn his going his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Cops; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter C. Coffey; two sisters Pearlie and Mary Louise, and two brothers Harold Edward and Albert Curtis, together with many other relatives and a host of friends to mourn his going.

The funeral was held at the Methodist church Monday afternoon and was attended by a large crowd of sorrowing relatives and friends. The service was conducted by Rev. F. A. Tucker and Rev. J. S. Ferguson. Burial in Green Hill cemetery.

Clifford was a fine young man and had a host of friends here who mourn his untimely death. Eight of his young schoolmates acted as pall bearers.
