Garrett Oliver, 59, 1522 Lake Shore Park, died Monday in General Hospital after an extended illness. Mr. Oliver was born March 16, 1906 in Greenup, Ky. For the past 23 years he had lived in the South Bend -Elkhart area. He married Ethyl Arnett in 1927 in Greenup. Surviving are two sons, John, North Liberty and Don, Elkhart; three daughter, Mrs. Mary Mast, Mrs. Ida Ellsworth, Elkhart and Mrs. Dorothy Gibson, Sawyer, Mich.; 15 grandchildren; two brothers, Ross and Jim, Columbus, Ohio; and three sisters, Mrs. Eva Rayburn, Mrs. Nancy Connely, Lexington, Ky., and Mrs. Clair Litteral, Argillite, Ky. Friends may call after 7 p.m. in the Palmer Funeral Home, North Liberty, where services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Walter Claeys, pastor of the First Baptist Church, North Liberty, officiating. Burial will be in the Westlawn Cemetery.
