From an unnamed and undated article located in the Lamar County Genealogical Society Library, in the Taylor Collection, Box M. 'Bonham - John Samuel Morris, 504 E. 15th Street, died Friday, July 29, at Sam Rayburn Memorial VA Center in Bonham. Funeral services were set for 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1, at the Cooper-Sorrels Funeral Home Chapel in Bonham. Graveside services will follow at 12 p.m. at Meadowbrook Gardens in Paris. Gene Wolf and Raymond Beaty will officiate. Mr. Morris was born in Paris, on Dec. 21, 1918, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Morris. He married on Nov. 21, 1946 in Cooper to Cleo Britt. He was a barber. Mr. Morris served in World War II and was a member of the Odd Fellow Lodge in Bonham. Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, John S. Morris Jr. of Garland and Phillip Lee Morris of Pottsboro; two brothers, James Edward Morris of Paris and C.O. Morris of Irving; four sisters, Mrs. D.E. Brooks of Honey Grove, Mrs. J.G. Derrick and Miss Billie June Morris, both of Paris and Mrs. Marvin Dunn Jr. of Dallas; two grandchildren.'
